Triticum Aestivum commonly as known as Wheat has been regarded as an important grain in Ayurveda. It is mostly used in the form of Wheat Germ Oil, which is an unrefined oil obtained from the germ of the wheat kernel and is rich in Vitamin E, A and D.
It is used in many natural, herbal formulations as it is highly nourishing and moisturizing for mature, aging and excessively dry skin. Vitamins and fatty acids present in this emollient help repair cracked, scarred skin, while restoring its even tone. It is an excellent source of antioxidants which helps in improving blood circulation and repairing skin cells which are often damaged by the UV rays. Wheat Germ Oil is well known for its humectant property, which seals the moisture into the skin and helps in removing excess sebum or oil production that leads to acne and pimples. Enriched with Linoleic Acid, Wheat Germ Oil is considered extremely good for hair and scalp as it maintains good scalp health, stimulates healthy hair growth, while restoring the moisture content in the strands and keeping them soft and lustrous.
